Apart from kajal, a good lip balm is a ‘must have’ companion in my handbag. Although I use Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm but this time, I tried my hands on VLCC product. So you got it right! This post is all about VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry Lip Balm review. Actually I found the title of the product- ‘Lovable Lips’ very appealing. MY TAKE ON VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry Lip Balm
PACKAGING
The lip balm bullet comes in a plastic tube format. It has got lipstick like twist-up packaging. The inner tube has the same colour as that of the actual lip balm which is bright red. The tube is shielded by a transparent plastic cap which is great as it helps to let you see the color of bullet from top. So, it gets easy for you to identify the shade. The plastic cap shuts with a click and thus protects the lip balm well.
The lip balm comes enclosed in a beautifully designed cardboard packaging. The carton bears all the product related information.
TEXTURE AND FEEL
The lip balm is light, soft and non-sticky on lips. I feel that it is made up of pure wax which is quite smooth and doesn’t give any waxy or greasy feeling to the lips.
But when I used it during winters, I found it’s texture to be hard and thick. As it was not easily blendable on lips, I had to swipe it 4-5 times to get the hint of red color on my lips.
One thing more I would like to suggest is that try to use this lip balm on scrubbed lips only. Once I tried it over my non-scrubbed lips, it made the problem worse and accumulated dry/dead skin on the surface. It got stuck on to the chapped lips and turned into flakes. VLCC Lovable Lips strawberry lip balm works better on scrubbed lips. Yes, it hydrates and softens the lips too.
COLOUR AND PIGMENTATION
This fruity strawberry flavoured colorful lip balm gives light pink and glossy touch to my lips in just a single swipe. This lovely tint looks natural on the lips.
It gives reddish orange tint in 2-3 swipes which I loved a lot. In case you don’t want to wear lipstick, you can try this as it’s colour is similar to that of a light shade daily wearable lipstick.
FRAGRANCE
I liked the fragrance as I like strawberries very much. It smells like a fruity strawberry chewing gum. The fragrance is very mild and not that strong as expected. But then I guess it would not pose any problem to people with sensitive noses. The lip balm has got no taste but yes it smells yummy for about 10-15 minutes and then it’s fragrance vanishes away.
MY EXPERIENCE
As I don’t wear lipsticks on daily basis so I am always on a lookout for a good lip balm which not only hydrates my lips but also gives a pretty pink or red-hued lips. In that case, I found VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry lip balm to be a good choice. It gives a reddish orange tinted lips with glossy moisturized look. But yes, it’s staying power is not that much. It lasts for about 2-3 hours and after that you’ll have to reapply it.
I really liked the fact that this lip balm comes with SPF 15. It provides protection against the harmful rays of the sun. Now I can step out in the sun without any fear of drying effects of the sun and wind. It is best suited for summers as I already said that it’s hydration and moisturizing power is low in winters because it’s texture turns hard.
To be frank, I am disappointed by the quality of plastic they have used for lip balm bullet. It’s quite fragile and might not survive any fall or high pressure. That is why I always make sure to keep it at safe place inside my handbag. As you can see, mine has already got some cracks. The company should really think about it.
