Ram said, “I was 130 kg when I started and I wanted to lose another 25-30 kgs. It was a fact that this journey is going to be tough. I decided that if I wanted to achieve my weight goals, I will have to take time off from work. It would need to be a substantial length of time, 6 months to a year. It is a hard decision to stop work completely for such a long period. I have been an unhealthy man for the last 10 years of my career. I am grateful that my fans accepted me the way I was, and that I had a career. At some point, I had to decide to get healthier. Once I made that decision, my health became the priority and my career took a back seat, at least for the time being.”

For his tremendous weight loss, the 44-year-old gives credits to a strict diet and workout regime.

For his fat to fit journey, Ram had to change his food habits completely. He followed the 16:8 diet which is time-restricted fasting. In this, you have to spend 16 hours of each day fasting and consuming nothing but unsweetened beverages like water, coffee, and tea. The remaining 8-hour window is when you can have all of your meals and snacks. This intermittent fasting method cuts your calorie consumption in a day and also boosts metabolism, thus accelerates the weight loss process.

The Student Of The Year star opened up about quitting his favourite foods. He said, “I eat limited food during a period of 8 hours. For the remaining 16 hours, I don’t eat anything at all. I have given up dairy, oil, most carbs, sugar and other normal food as I know it. I had to give up meat as well for the desired changes in my body.”

The hardcore workout that he has undergone to achieve that fit and fine body over the last two years is more than evident in his recent pictures. In one of his recent interviews, the actor revealed his fitness regime and also spoke about how much his wife, Gautami has supported him through this.

“Gautami is incredibly fit, which is a huge motivation. Eventually, our kids are going to grow up and go away. It’s just going to be the two of us taking care of each other, travelling and growing old together. I had the option of either being the way I am, where she would need to take care of me because of how fat I was, or I could get as healthy as her so that both of us can enjoy life together,” said Ram Kapoor.

He further added, “As soon as I wake up in the morning, I do an hour of weight-lifting on an empty stomach. And at night, just before I sleep, I do cardio.”
