DIY Natural Leave in Hair Conditioner

What is the texture of your hair? Is it dry, coarse, frizzy, or unruly? If yes, then you must have faced the problem of tangles and knots. Not only is it frustrating but can also be quite painful and damaging. And undoubtedly, all these things lead to hair fall. Keeping all these things in mind, I thought of sharing a blog post on leave-in hair conditioner. Once you start using these DIYs, your tangles will be much easier to comb out and your hair will look healthy, soft and shiny.

These hair conditioner recipes are homemade and I have used all the natural ingredients which are good for your hair. If you want, you can use them on your kids’ hair, too as they are safe and chemical free.

ALOE VERA Leave-In Hair Conditioner

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel
  • 4 tablespoons Rosewater
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 2 Vitamin E capsules
  • 8 drops of Jasmine Essential Oil

METHOD

Mix all the above-mentioned ingredients in a bowl and blend well until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. Once your shampooing and conditioning is done, apply this Aloe Vera leave-in conditioner to damp or towel-dried hair, then style as usual. Make sure to apply the leave-in conditioner on your mid-lengths and ends, avoid roots, as that could leave your hair looking greasy. Apart from adding extra shine, this will detangle your strands, which can help make styling easier.

WHY DOES IT WORK?

ALOE VERA GEL

Aloe vera is an amazing ingredient to improve hair health. It acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny. This natural gel moisturizes and improves damaged, dry hair.

ROSEWATER

Rose water makes a great addition to any hair care routine. It reduces frizz, replenishes lost moisture and makes hair more manageable and smoother. Rose water helps in restoring the natural shine of your hair.

COCONUT OIL

Rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, coconut oil is perfect for dry and brittle hair. Coconut oil adds luster, shine, and softness to the hair. It prevents hair breakage and split ends too.

VITAMIN E CAPSULE

Vitamin E is best known for its antioxidant properties. It nourishes hair and adds shine too.

JASMINE ESSENTIAL OIL

Jasmine oil can lock in moisture, hydrate dry hair, and tame frizz. Apart from adding sweet and light fragrance, it can help provide extra moisture as well as detangle strands.

BUTTER HONEY Leave-In Hair Conditioner

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons Shea butter
  • Half cup Coconut Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Jojoba Oil

METHOD

Heat up and melt the shea butter until it’s liquid (don’t overheat as high temperatures destroy its nutrients). Combine melted shea butter with the coconut milk and honey until it’s smooth. Now add the oils drop by drop while still mixing. Pour this butter honey leave-in hair conditioner into a spray bottle and apply liberally after you shampoo and condition, usually to towel-dried hair before styling. You can make small batches, store it in a fridge and use within about a week. Warm prior to application as needed.

WHY DOES IT WORK?

SHEA BUTTER

Filled with Vitamins A and E along with essential fatty acids, shea butter help increase shine and reduce the frizz of hair.

COCONUT MILK

Coconut milk is used for restoring dry, damaged and brittle hair, as well as split ends. When used as a leave-in hair conditioner, it thickens strands and provides volume without making hair greasy.

HONEY

Honey is a natural humectant. It takes the moisture from the air and seals it in your hair. This keeps hair moisturized, which will reduce breakage and allow hair to stay strong and grow longer.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

Lavender oil conditions the hair deeply, keeps it shiny and helps control dandruff too. It has a pleasant floral fragrance and that is highly desirable.

JOJOBA OIL

Jojoba oil enhances shine and makes hair softer and smoother. It nurtures and repairs the hair structure. Being rich in vitamins and minerals, it prevents hair loss and increases the volume of your strands.

Apply leave-in hair conditioner on damp strands. If you still feel frizziness in your hair, you can apply it once again after your hair is dry.
